6 years in a human’s life is a short process, but for those who have had the grace to understand DCI, it seems that it is their whole life, a new chapter in the journey to find the true values of life.
DCI Vietnam started with just one person – Mr. Nguyen Cong Binh (currently General Director of DCI Vietnam Joint Stock Company). With great affection and trust for DCI, he devotes himself to working with the Vietnamese lecturers in order to create a DCI branch developing strongly day by day. Starting from scratch, the DCI community gradually formed, so far more than 20,000 people have come to DCI, 100+ courses and programs have taken place.
Thousands of Vietnamese have applied DCI and achieved results that went beyond their imagination. The seeds have been replicated and spread throughout the provinces and cities, so far, the program has expanded its influence to the capital of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Gia Lai, Daklak, Ca Mau… And throughout those 4 years of strong operation, DCI Vietnam has owned a team of leaders who enthusiastically and devotedly serve the organization – often implementing group activities, sharing values, knowledge, doing more charity activities…
Especially, thanks to the support and contributions of the student community, the DCI fund has also made a noteworthy mark. By October 2021, this fund has used the money raised to serve charity activities such as: building more than 500 houses of charity, 10+ bridges, 10+ school sites, cash donations, gifts for children, and lonely old people in deprived circumstances.
Especially the activities to provide people in the blockade areas with sustenance, giving medical equipment to more than 20 field hospitals during the Covid-19 epidemic.
What Has Created The Power To Help DCI Vietnam Grow So Fast And Ceaselessly?
Over 4000 years of civilization has created a Vietnamese culture rich in humanity, you can’t find anywhere else the commandments, stories, and tales that teach children and grandchildren as much as in Vietnam. It is traditions such as being studious, being deferential to the teacher, and respecting their morals, a rolling stone gathers no moss and you reap what you sow. In general, DCI has a deep similarity with the values of Vietnamese culture. Moreover, the program teaches each individual how to apply these principles to real-life and effectively.
Trees always look to where there is light, people are always searching and discovering to develop themselves. When the great teacher Geshe Michael Roach spoke in Vietnam for the first time, many attendees were surprised and confused as to why he kept saying the same thing over and over again. However, after a dozen times of repeating the pen story, people started to understand an obvious statement that is true: Everything in the world is because of you. Everything we do, everything we think, the blame, the resentment, before and after, originates from “me”. The greatest awakening is realizing that only you can change yourself and that you are capable of changing the world. Self-mastery is the beginning to help people overcome adversity, fate and then unlock the leadership potential in each person.
And more importantly, do not just stop at exploring yourself, the sowing system of DCI also helps us arouse and exploit leadership capacity in each person. Since ancient times, the leader of a group, a population, has been the person who has the ability to protect lives, maintain the survival of others. Unlike the current concept of leadership, natural leaders always have an influence on the majority because they have the ability to give and help others. When we realize that: each seed creates new things, helping others is also helping ourselves to become better – everyone will be ready to give, ready to do more good things. That’s how DCI created a new leadership team, dedicating themselves to serving everyone and the world as well.
DCI Vietnam has made great strides, but there is still a lot of work to do ahead. The journey of spreading DCI’s values to more than 95 million people in Vietnam, helping people install and apply the DCI system more reliably and effectively will never cease. DCI programs will not only be limited to adults but also expand to programs for children, to create a sustainable change for Vietnamese society down the line. Also, we will continue to lead in the development of charity funds, building more houses to support families in need, bridges connecting banks in remote areas, and scholarships to support poor children, financial support for the lonely elderly.
A journey with many challenges lying ahead, but once the seed is sown, the tree will sprout. We believe that the results are waiting if we are persistent, constantly being kind, loving, and “sowing seeds”.
